John began his Mortgage Banking career with Bankers Life's Single Family Division in Des Moines, Iowa as Vice President in charge of the Florida office. He then moved to the Commercial side of the Mortgage Banking Industry and joined James T. Barnes in Detroit, Michigan, which specialized in FHA Multifamily Finance, as Vice President for the Southeast Region. He then joined Banco Mortgage in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where he was the National Sales Manager for FHA Multifamily production.
He completed his career in Commercial Mortgage Banking as President of Merrill Lynch Huntoon Paige (MLHP) in New York. MHLP was at that time the largest producer of FHA Multifamily mortgages in the United States. After Merrill Lynch sold MLHP, John was asked to join Merrill Lynch in New York as Vice President of the Commercial Mortgage trading desk.
John continued his career in Investment Banking with Drexel Burnham Lambert in California as Senior Vice President of Commercial Mortgage Trading. Drexel was one of the first companies in the country to develop the CMBS market. During the early 90's, John was personally trading over $4 Billion in commercial mortgages annually.
He subsequently joined Security Pacific Merchant Bank as a Partner, where he headed the Bank's Investment Banking Department. When the Bank was sold, John continued his career as a self-employed Real Estate Broker and Commercial Mortgage Broker and securities brokerage, as well as investing for his personal account.
John graduated from California Baptist University with a BS in Business Administration. He holds Real Estate Broker licenses in Florida and California as well as Series 7, 24 and 63 licenses.
